Almost 2 years ago today, I was preparing to attend my first online business conference and it was being held in Las Vegas. Two things from this time make it very memorable and meaningful.
First off, the day before I was to leave I was struggling to get a simple landing page up on WordPress, with the intention of sending people to it so they could give me their email and I could keep in touch — 2 years ago this was no easy task. After pulling my hair out and slamming my laptop shut, it dawned on me that I can’t be the only person with this same struggle; this was the birth of VelocityPage.
Secondly, I was introduced to Stu McLaren.
Prior to the conference I was aware of Stu’s business, Wishlist Member, a WordPress plugin that enables anyone to simply create and manage a membership site, but I wasn’t aware of the rest of his story. And this other side of Stu ended up being truly fascinating.
[Tweet “My first sale was more powerful to me than anything anyone could ever teach me.”]
During his presentation at the conference, Stu told the story of his first sale online. This story has stuck with me for the last two years and has been an inspiration to me and 1000s of other entrepreneurs; today I am so happy that Stu is able to share this story with you.
Stu has sold millions of dollars online from a sleepy rural Canadian home. All of this is through his business that is being run with remote employees spanning 4 continents.
